The day concludes with Janni Jungblut's documentary on anti-fascist resistance. An unassuming village in the south of France became a hub of the
French Resistance during the German occupation of France in the Second World War. Three women played a pivotal role in these events. Two of them
ran the progressive school openly as a couple, whilst secretly sheltering
refugees, whose identity documents were forged by the secretary. The film
combines archive footage of contemporary witnesses and former pupils with a contemporary theatre workshop, in which children reinterpret the events and explore how to come to terms with the past. A powerful appeal to pass on the legacy of the Resistance to the next generation.
