Music, dance and spoken word combine in Baba Yaga: Songs & Dances of Death, a thrilling evening exploring the mysterious figure from Slavic folklore, Baba Yaya, and the Death-Skeleton Woman in Mussorgsky's Songs and Dances of Death. It is conceived and performed by renowned mezzo-soprano Rowan Hellier, and choreographed by Andreas Heise, with dancers Ana Dordevic and Carola Schwab and pianist Sholto Kynoch. Music ranges from Handel to Janacek to Mussorgsky, with a specially-commissioned new work by leading composer Elena Langer.
