Fünf Performerinnen verbinden Stimme, Text und Klang: Experimenteller Sound trifft auf Operngesang, begleitet von Harfe, Klavier, Cello und Akkordeon. Die musikalisch-szenische Collage wirft einen Blick in Vergangenheit, Gegenwart und Zukunft der jiddischen Kultur in Berlin. Ausgehend von der vibrierenden jiddischer Theaterkultur, die das Berliner Scheunenviertel um die Sophiensæle zwischen 1870 und den frühen 1920er-Jahren prägte, folgt die Dramaturgie den Frauen Regina Jonas, Rosa Luxemburg, Rosa Klauber, Ruth Klinger sowie Rahel Varnhagen, Rokhl Korn, Rahel Hirsch und Rachel Libeskind. Ihre Biografien verhandeln feministische Handlungsfähigkeit, Solidarität und künstlerische Resilienz.

Five performers translate this diversity into a tapestry of voice, text and sound: experimental sound meets opera singing, accompanied by harp, piano, cello and accordion. The musical and scenic collage takes a glimpse into the past, present and future of Yiddish culture in Berlin. Drawing on the vibrant Yiddish theater culture that shaped Berlin's Scheunenviertel around todays Sophiensæle between 1870 and the early 1920s, the narrative follows the women Regina Jonas, Rosa Luxemburg, Rosa Klauber, Ruth Klinger, as well as Rahel Varnhagen, Rokhl Korn, Rahel Hirsch and Rachel Libeskind. Their biographies raise questions about feminist agency, solidarity and artistic resilience.
