As part of our Black History Month program we celebrate Black art in various forms and are happy to invite a Freiburg based author for a poetry reading of her latest works! Cheryl Leonhardt takes you on a journey through the depths of the human experience in her two powerful collections of poetry. She combines themes of resilience, love, loss and self-discovery, creating a trail that resonates with the complexities of life. The hills of success to the quiet moments of reflection, each peom is a step along the path of transformation. Cheryl's words offer both solace and inspiration, challenging readers to embrace the chaos and calm, the joy and sorrow and ultimately, the beauty of the human spirit. Whether exploring the inner realm of the soul or the broader landscape of life's adventures, her poetry is a tribute to the strength found in vulnerability and the wisdom gained through experience. Born in Jamaica, Cheryl now lives in Freiburg and is the head teacher of English at the Carl-Schurz-Haus, empowering the young and the old in their learning of the English language.
