SMILE AND BURN is known as a guarantee for wild live concerts, a humorous online presence, a clear political stance and a sound that drives forward. On their seventh studio album »Seid ihr stolz auf mich?« (Are you proud of me?) the cards are almost entirely reshuffled.
A new seriousness and gravity have taken hold and the winking gallows humor that previously ran through their lyrics has given way to introspective self-reflection. The band explores the charged concept of »pride« on a personal level, resulting in the most thematically dense work of their discography.
With more experiments in sound, airier song structures, and uncompromisingly melancholic lyrics, they ensure nothing is repeated. The punk rock SMILE AND BURN delivers on this 12-track album is more stripped down and raw than ever before. The sound of »Seid ihr stolz auf mich?« conveys and complements the reflective, dark mood of the lyrics, yet still absolutely suited for live performance.
