After more than seven years away from the stage, The Black Atlantic - the intimate folk project of Dutch singersongwriter Geert van der Velde - returns.
What began as a solitary, introspective project has quietly grown into something broader, deeper, and more
urgent. Now, for the first time in years, The Black Atlantic will tour as a full band across Germany and the
Netherlands.
The shows will revisit older material from the debut album Reverence For Fallen Trees and the Darkling, I Listen EP - songs that have traveled far beyond their origins, carried by listeners through different seasons of their lives. But this return is not only about looking back. Alongside these familiar moments, new material will emerge: early glimpses of a forthcoming album, set for release in 2027. These songs are still in motion - unfixed, working in the dark - and the light of the stage will be where they begin to take shape.
This tour marks both a return and a threshold: a chance to reconnect, to reimagine, and to hear the new work
