SHKOON finally came back with another concept album «Masrahiya», which is Arabicand stands for theater play. Shkoon created a strong message again, with a diversepiece of art combined with a concert tour.
This play 'Masrahiya' delves deep into the blurred boundaries between reality andfiction, where the lines of truth and imagination intertwine like a mesmerizing dance.As the three captivating chapters unfold, tragedy, politics, and irony are seamlesslywoven together, creating a tapestry of emotions that leaves the audience spellbound.Shkoon released a little game on their website which has a lot of easter eggs aroundthe album and a crazy summer fit Al-Furat. In addition to their own lyrics, the band is using old traditional music elements of theArab community, such as arabic folklore, which today is more relevant than ever. Intheir sets, oriental melodies partner up with occidental electronics.Their compositionsbeautifully merged traditions, showcasing the limitless possibilities of music.The album is situated between influences of electronic downbeat, deep house, duband hip-hop. Piano, violin, synthesizers, percussion and vocals merge with orientalmelodies and western electronic beats. The listener will be taking on a journey thatblurs the boundaries of cultures.
